Care & Cure is a non-profit organization that was started in March of 2012. This organization was created to inspire those affected by cancer to come together as a community and raise recognition for general cancer research by choosing colorful for the cure. Other aspects of Care & Cure include guiding you towards the right direction to find a trustworthy foundation if you do not feel like donating to us, and also going places to publicly speak about how to deal with cancer, how to deal with watching someone suffering from cancer, how to make a difference in the community, and what cancer really is. It was founded by Isabel Caballero, a student at Mount Carmel Academy. The inspiration came from the fact that in February of 2011, Isabel's grandmother had passed away from lung cancer after seven years of being diagnosed with it. She had double breast cancer in her earlier years as well. Later in 2011 her dog had died from leukemia and some other family members got diagnosed with different types of cancer also. Isabel states that “the varieties of cancer forms deserve to be recognized and supported equally together.” After thinking things through, she decided to start Care & Cure Cancer Foundation. As of today, all proceeds go to the Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
